With
blissful beaches, superb sports and some of the
finest hotels and restaurants, comes the best
sunshine record in the Caribbean. Bearing this
in mind, the epithet “Little England ”
may seem less than accurately descriptive of Barbados,
but little
touches like cricket-crazy locals and Nelson’s
statue in Bridgetown’s Trafalgar Square
go some way to explaining it.
The
jewel in the Caribbean crown, Barbados is a multi-faceted
gem. Its west coast beaches of fine sand are lapped
by the gentle waves of the Caribbean and backed
by luxury hotels and villas, while the rugged
east coast cliffs have been sculpted by powerful
Atlantic rollers and are left largely undisturbed
by tourism.
Steel
bands, shipwrecks and sugar plantations rejuxtaposed
with state-of-the-art sports facilities, up-tempo
nightclubs, an easy gentility and colonial charm.
No undeserved superlatives necessary.With Barbados,you
simply tell it like it is.
